.38 Super is a pistol round that fires a 0.356-inch-diameter 9.04 mm bullet. It is a preferred competition round due to its power factor, our 124 grain being at 170. It will out-penetrate 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 Auto, the recoil is very manageable, and it has a higher velocity than 9mm.
